First - banana/milk/cinnamon/crushed ice smoothies are DELICIOUS.
Second - what do you do when you settle down for your apple dinner (the only apple left in the house, mind you) and your 7yr old asks you to share? I didn't want to be mean mommy, but it was my DINNER! I gave him 1/2 a chunk and then offered him a pear.
haha - I felt like a stingy person the other day when a friend asked for a piece of celery. I remember thinking, but it's my weighed out snack. In the end, I did give my friend one piece of celery :)
ReplyDeleteFunny situations! Fortunately for us, very few people are actually interested in eating healthy food.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if you tell your 7 year old they can have the apple after a PCP workout that'll throw them off the scent?
ReplyDeleteWe've been pleased having lots of fruits and veggies in the house because it puts it in front of Olivia a lot more often. That said, we haven't encountered the 'last apple' situation yet...
ReplyDeleteOnly because we work really hard to make sure we don't run out of apples. That said, there have been many times that I've shared my afternoon apple with Olive. I don't think I'll be sharing my dinner apple with her.
ReplyDeleteAnd you are totally making me consider buying a blender with all this talk of smoothie goodness.
ReplyDeleteSusan - you and Ian MUST get a blender. It will change your life. Or at least your PCP life. I've had a smoothie a day since I started.
ReplyDeleteEllen - I'm usually a big food sharer with my husband, but now I give him an evil look if he asks for a bite of something. I think he's figuring it out:)
