Incline pull ups

I think there are two camps in PCP - those who CAN do a pull up, and those who can't.  Hopefully all of us will move into the CAN by the time this is over, but for now, the incline pull up and I have become friends.

At the beginning, I was clueless about where exactly I was going to do these exercises.  My dining table is rickety, no other indoor options were working - and then I remembered the unused sawhorse in my basement.

Now it's my new best friend.  My brother in law took this photo the other night.  Notice my hand pads - they're oven mitts.  I'm nothing if not a classy PCPer!

  1. Dude, this is AWESOME! I am going to be screwed when the snow falls and I can no longer access the bars in the kiddie park I've been using (not to mention a TOTAL pain to go there after my workout). I am going to go to home depot and see how much one of these costs!

  2. Are you or your husband the slightest bit handy? I'm not really, but my brother built this for us a couple of years ago. If you are handy-ish, it's just two pieces of metal, and 3 pieces of 2x4. Total of about 5 bucks, I believe!

  3. What, you don't want calloused, rough hands?

  4. I'm all for callouses (adds to my "don't mess with me, I'm a bad ass" mystique), but I don't want splinters!

  5. I am not super handy but I'll ask Simon if he can put something like this together for me!

  6. This is so "Rocky"...lifting boulders, doing shoulder presses with a sleigh that his friends sit in, incline pull-ups on a sawhorse. Hard core. Awesome Sara.

  7. I had trouble finding something too. I started using my kung fu staff between my kitchen tables. I guess I'm in the other camp of doing pull ups (but I still can't complete all six sets to the fullest, that's my main goal). If you look at sarah from before she couldn't do pull-ups and now she can, so I'm sure you'll get there. You're doing great, keep it up.

  8. Love! That might be one of the most bad-ass PCP photos ever.
