This made my morning

Shitola work out this am - it was raining, I decided to do the exercises first so I wouldn't wake up the whole house with my jumping, and on lunge #4 I tweaked something in my hip (don't think I stretched enough before doing them).  Finished the exercises, totally sweaty and gross (much hotter indoors), then did my jumps while kids were staring at me, and I tripped approx. every 25 steps (in between yelling "STOP TALKING TO ME WHILE I'M JUMPING!!!" Blech.

Came back after dropping off Kid #2 at school to find this posted on a friend's facebook page.  Enjoy.  It made my day.  The sheer randomness of seeing Mike Tyson attempting to dance is too much...

  1. Every little step I take, you will be there! Thanks for the smile. Hope the muscle tweak is just temporary.

  2. Jumps were about the same for me this morning. In fact, I threw down my damn rope in frustration and broke one of the cheap plastic handles, so I have to go buy a new one. I think I'll spend the extra few bucks for a better model.

  3. Love it! Maybe the jumping warms up your hips and is better to do first. It's hard when you don't want to mess up everybody's schedule though isn't it?

  4. That video is hilarious.

Stretching is key to not injuring anything. 10 mins before and after should cut it.

  5. love it! if you can yell in between jumps, you're definitely getting to peak condition. instead of the kids staring, have them be your counters. :P

  6. Nothing will make a kid curious faster than an adult jumping rope.

  7. Oh man... at least you kids generally get what is going on - poor Olivia (almost 3) just thinks we're nuts. She is, however, trying really hard to emulate us. Tonight she mimicked me doing lunges as well as stealing my jump rope at the beginning for her jumps.
